Another Night of Real Estate School

Another real estate class, Another 4 hours of class completed.  Ahhh, my days start with me getting out of bed, while crying, trying to remember why I chose to be an adult and get a job in Corporate America.  I'm at work all day until 4:30 or 5:00 and then I make the hour drive, in rush hour traffic, to St. Paul to attend another night of real estate class.  Tonight we learned all about the real estate profession and what we need to do to be successful.  This might be shocking to you but you need to sell houses in order to be successful in this industry.

On a side note…I decided I need to buy a new realtor bag.  This means I get to go shopping!  One of my favorite hobbies!  Everyone was really impressed with my Pink calculator in class tonight.  It has lots of sparkles and is so fun.  I'm figuring out a market analysis and I pull out my pink calculator and the other fellow real estate students were amazed.  It was awesome.  (Thanks Amanda and Caleb for the awesome pink calculator from Australia.)

ShopDiscover Blog Promotion

So my Discover Card company told me to write a blog about my Open Road Discover card and the ShopDiscover program I take part in as a Discover card holder.  They call this the "ShopDiscover Blog Promotion."  Now that I'm becoming a realtor I will use this card because need for office supplies, gas and gifts is about to get a lot bigger.  By using my Discover card I take part in Discover's ShopDiscover experience.  This experience is awesome!

I use my card at all of these merchants online and I receive a certain percentage of my purchase back in cash.  It's that easy.  For example, I need to purchase pens, paper and a business card holder.  If I use the ShopDiscover experience at OfficeMax, I automatically get 5% back of my purchases.  It's such a great program.  I'm buying things I need to buy and getting free cash back.  I can also use it to buy new clothes and last minute presents I may need.  I am also able to book vacations and flights and get a percentage of my purchase price back as part of this program.

They have many of my favorite online retailers to choose from and there is always good money to save.  There are so many benefits It's awesome and I would totally recommend it to everyone I know.

A New Blog, A New Adventure

For some reason, 2009 brought me to the decision to obtain my real estate license.  I'm currently completing my mandatory 90 hours of classroom training required by the great state of Minnesota.  90 hours in a classroom learning about laws and regulations in regards to real estate may sound really fun to you, but it's actually a test for me (a test to see how long I can keep my eyes open)  Luckily, most of my instructors are extremely loud and excited to be teaching about acreage and mortgage rates.

For some reason I am now totally into septic systems and square footage.  The thing I'm probably the most excited for is getting my extremely cheesy picture taken for my business cards.  I'm currently interviewing with different brokers to see who likes me and who I like.  Too bad I can't just pick the cutest one.  You may end up being completely bored with this blog, but for those of you who can't wait to read about amortization and easements, you've come to the right place!
